Opening Times in Brussels

Opening Times in Brussels

What are the business hours in Brussels? How many days a week do Belgians work? Are the shops closed on Sundays?

Brussels has very limited opening hours, so you will find it difficult to combine seeing the city’s top attractions and best museums with shopping, even if it is just for souvenirs.

Shops

Most shops in Brussels are open from Monday to Friday, from 10 am to 6 pm, although on Saturday, the stores are usually open longer, closing usually at 7 pm or 8 pm.

Some of the shops located on the city’s high streets also open on Sunday and others close on Monday morning.

Department stores

Department stores in Brussels have the same opening hours as most shops and you’ll find it hard to find anything open after 7 pm. On Friday, Inno (a department store on rue Neuve) opens until 8 pm.

Museums

The opening hours of the museums in Brussels vary greatly, the most popular galleries open from 9:30 am to 5 pm, nevertheless we recommend checking each museum you plan to visit individually, just in case, as some close in the afternoons and others close for lunch.

Souvenirs, food and other traditional products

Brussels is a multicultural melting pot and many immigrants have opened food and souvenir shops that are open longer hours, as well as restaurants serving their country's traditional food.
