Day Trip to Dinant & Caves of Han
Day Trip Details
We'll meet at the designated time at Berlaimont Boulevard, in front of the National Bank of Belgium, and from this spot in the centre of Brussels, we'll make our way to Wallonia: the French-speaking region in the south of the country.
After an approximately 1.5-hour drive, we'll arrive at the famous Caves of Han, a spectacular collection of underground galleries created by the erosion of the Lesse River against the limestone rocks of the area.
Once here, we'll go on a tour of the Grottes de Han. Throughout the visit to these tunnels, we'll see underground rivers, stalactites, and stalagmites. Do you know the difference between them? Find out what characterises these geological formations on this tour!
After visiting the Caves of Han, we'll continue the trip by heading over to Dinant, at the shores of the Mosa River. At this beautiful location, we'll go on a brief walking tour to get to know some of its most emblematic spots, like the Charles de Gaulle Bridge and the Collegiate Church of Our Lady of Dinant. We'll also discuss Adolphe Sax, the inventor of the saxophone, who was born in Diant in 1814.
At the end of our guided tour of Dinant, you'll have 2 hours of free time to grab a bite to eat and visit other landmarks in the city, such as the Adolphe Sax House-Museum and the Citadel, which you can reach by hopping onto a cable car. The views are astounding!
Lastly, we'll meet back up in the centre of Dinant to begin our journey back to the meeting point in Brussels, where this day trip will come to an end after a total of 9 hours.
